October 6 Prof. Dr. Satoshi OMURA, who was our research collaborator for the discovery of a siganlling molecule for the production of avermectin, was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in physiology/medicine (discovery of avermectins).

October 1 Ms. Nindya Resha Pramesti from Indonesia joined our laboratory as a master course student of the Biotechnology Global Human Resource Development Program.

September 28 Ms. Ratama Dadunag and Mr. Yohanes Novi Kurniawan successfully defended their PhD theses, thereby becoming Ratama Dadunag, Ph.D. and Yohanes Novi Kurniawan, Ph.D, respecetively.

A research topic of Ratama is "Characterization of the biosynthetic gene cluster for maklamicin, a spirotetronate-class antibiotic of the endophytic Micromonospora sp. NBRC 110955".

A research topic of Yohanes is "Differential roles of three regulatory proteins in IM-2/FarA signaling cascade governing secondary metabolism in Streptomyces lavendulae FRI-5".
